  • A more attractice street eg. through landscaping, planting, street furniture, murals and public art.
  • People working together to change their street.
  • More physical activity by encouraging active modes of transport and creating spaces for children to play.
  • Local and national interest in the impact of this pilot project.
  • Local community more aware of sustainable transport options and what they can do to make their streets safer and more attractive for walking and cycling.
  • Increased sense of neighborhood and street pride.

I'm interested... so what's next?

  • The first step is to get a group of like minded residents together. Start talking to your neighbours about what might be possible.
  • Fill in the nomination pack (be as creative, imaginative and honest as you possibly can).
  • Fill it with drawings, sketches, photos, maps, comments, ideas, images etc.
  • Send it back to the Council (New Plymouth District Council, Private Bag 2025, New Plymouth) or drop it into the Civic Centre by 29 April.
  • Wait for us to contact you:
    • We may want more information.
    • We may want to come and meet your group/see your street.
    • We may select your street as our Let’s Go street project.
